This Book is Not on Weighty Topics...

...because it's about 'light.'  Other than coming up with wordplays, I have been writing a sequel to "The Heavens Declare" on the topic of light.  This process is exciting to me especially since it involves the same characters I have grown to know so well.  I think this book will be even better than the first.  Last night, at 10:30, I completed the first rough draft.  Now it's on to re-writes!

The Return of the Tyler

Last week Tyler's family was in town again.  We all had a great time (even though a couple people got a stomach bug).  Hopefully these pictures post in the right order...

 

Kate and Sadie had me do their hair up all fancy-like.  That was fun, especially doing Sadie's hair.  I couldn't resist posting this shot of the big twist I did up the back.

 

Elizabeth sure does like "Ty" as she calls him.  (Not quite sure what happened to the "-ler.")  Anyhow, she climbed up in his lap while he was studying, and I just had to get a picture of it.  She's so content to just sit with him!

 

Surprise!  Surprise!  I was absolutely flabbergasted!  Tyler brought me this beautiful wool skirt from Scotland.  (More on that later.)

 

While Kate and Mom made breakfast, Tyler and I sat out on the deck and chatted the last morning they were here.  Mom poked her head out the door and said, "We were noticing if you could adjust your chairs a little bit so you were lined up with the doors, it would make a great picture."  So we did, and here it is. :)  It was so cold and foggy out, but it was very beautiful as well.  We enjoyed watching the fog lift as we talked about nothing and everything.

 

So, I think the visit was very good for our courtship... which, by the way, has been going on for two months and two days today.

Perry Getting Peary

Some friends let us have all the pears off their tree, so for the past two days we have been getting sticky.  Most of the pears have just been canned as slices, but some Mom cooked down into delicious pear sauce (like apple sauce, you know...).  I spent much of today washing pears, peeling pears, coring pears, dunking pears... then starting all over again.  It's been fun and something I have wanted to learn, but my feet are ready for me to head to bed. :)  So enjoy the pictures, and goodnight!

Good Man (not boy)

Well, since Tyler seems to be too busy to blog, I'll just have to brag on him: on Tuesday he passed another college test with an awesome score!  Now he's making headway on the next chunky textbook.

A Higher Law and a Governed Government

Today, when Dad gave us our history assignment, it included the introduction to "The Anti-Federalist Papers."  It is very fascinating, and I thought I'd share these two relevant and applicable quotes:

 

 

'In another effort to resist, as Madison put it, "the maxim... that the interest of the majority is the political standard of right and wrong," many leaders sought to establish written constitutions, with their bills of rights, clear definitions of procedure, and careful limitations of power, as fundamental law, above legislative or executive authority... These solemn, deliberate acts of the people established a "higher law" that a majority of the legislature or even of the people would be forbidden to violate.'

I'm Back

Okay, it's me again, Aimee.  I've finally returned to the blogging world.

Here's a snapshot of my life lately. Tons of reading (hmm, a termite just dropped out of nowhere and landed on the keyboard) about the American Revolution, more reading about the American Revolution, a new van (oh, yes, have I mentioned that? That's a whole other blog post!!!!), a wacky little thing called a courtship (not mine, my sister's), a whole lot of wild scheming, keeping things together because Mom was at a women's conference, an enormous grocery shopping trip Saturday, and a Life Chain (peaceful protest against abortion) yesterday.  

The little Microsoft assistant kitty is sleeping; he must know it's past nine. As you can all tell, I need to go to bed, so I shall end by saying this to all the Arizona people reading this: I haven't heard barely anything about camp, so if anybody has a spare moment, I would greatly enjoy some communication in some form!!!

Oh yes, some of you already know, but I shall tell you all about that amazing wonderful  shocking thing called a new van ( I can't believe we haven't blogged about it yet , it's been awhile) at a later date!!!!!!! I have some other cool news too, and no, it isn't another courtship, at least not yet!!
